A Christmas Carol – A Radio Play Live on Stage

Charles Dickens' festive classic comes to life in a radio-play-live-on-stage production featuring Colin Baker and Sophie Aldred. Set in a radio studio with live sound effects, the performance retells the story of Ebenezer Scrooge and his journey of redemption.

Presented by the Crime And Comedy Theatre Company, this new adaptation of A Christmas Carol reimagines Charles Dickens' beloved festive tale as a radio-play-live-on-stage. The production stars Colin Baker and Sophie Aldred, with a specially recorded appearance by Tom Baker as Jacob Marley.

On Christmas Eve, Ebenezer Scrooge is visited by the ghost of his former business partner, Jacob Marley, and warned that three spirits will soon appear. Through encounters with the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet To Come, Scrooge is confronted with the consequences of his actions and given the opportunity to change his future.

Set within a radio studio, the actors perform as though making a live broadcast, with sound effects created in front of the audience to bring Victorian London to life. This special production marks the 180th anniversary of Dickens' timeless story of charity, forgiveness and redemption.
