Experience one of Somerset's most famous traditions as Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival returns with its spectacular illuminated procession. Featuring elaborate carnival carts, performers, music and entertainment, the event attracts thousands of visitors each year.
Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival is the UK's oldest carnival and one of Europe's largest illuminated carnival processions. Each year, carnival clubs spend months creating spectacular illuminated entries featuring thousands of lights, costumes, music and special effects.
The procession transforms Bridgwater's streets into a moving display of creativity and entertainment, with around 100 entries taking part. Visitors can enjoy a full day of activity in the town before the evening procession gets underway.
The celebrations begin with a fireworks display on Friday evening, followed by the main carnival procession on Saturday. The event traditionally concludes with the famous Squibbing display in Bridgwater High Street.
