Step into one of Taunton’s longest‑running traditions with the Monday Markets, a vibrant weekly event rooted in local history.

A Taunton Tradition Since 1978

The story began in 1978 when the original Taunton Antique Market opened its doors on Silver Street. Operating exclusively on Mondays, it quickly grew into a beloved local institution. With queues regularly stretching around the block and more than 100 dealers inside its quirky 15,000 sq ft building, the market became a national destination for antique lovers and treasure hunters.

Revitalised for Today

On 10 October 2022, Antiques on High breathed new life into the iconic space, transforming 25 Silver Street into a traditional antique centre, while preserving the much‑loved Monday Market across 25–29 Silver Street—now complete with a cosy café for visitors.

The centre and market have since welcomed special guests, including antique expert David Harper, who spent a day filming on-site.
