Celebrate the 25th anniversary of Pandaemonium with a special screening at Hestercombe House. Shot largely in Somerset, the film tells the story of poets Samuel Taylor Coleridge and William Wordsworth and showcases many of the landscapes that inspired their work.
To mark the 25th anniversary of Pandaemonium, Screen Somerset and the Hestercombe Gardens Trust are hosting two special screenings of the acclaimed film at Hestercombe House.
Starring John Hannah as William Wordsworth and Linus Roache as Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Pandaemonium is a passionate story of poetry, love and rivalry. Filmed largely in Somerset, it showcases the landscapes of the Quantock Hills and Exmoor that inspired some of the poets' most celebrated works, including The Rime of the Ancient Mariner and Kubla Khan.
A key scene was filmed at Hestercombe's Pear Pond, making the venue a fitting location for this anniversary event. The screenings will take place in Hestercombe House's historic wood-panelled dining room, the first time the space has been used in this way.
The evening screening is expected to be introduced, subject to availability, by the film's director and Somerset resident, Julien Temple. Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore Hestercombe House and Gardens as part of their ticket.
