The Dave Hankin Big Band returns to the Tacchi-Morris Arts Centre with a programme of classic big band music, featuring songs associated with artists including Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Frank Sinatra and Glenn Miller.
Following a number of successful appearances, The Dave Hankin Big Band returns with a new show celebrating the sounds of the big band era and beyond. The programme includes music associated with artists such as Count Basie, Frank Sinatra, Duke Ellington, Nelson Riddle, Buddy Rich, Glenn Miller and Maynard Ferguson.
Recognised as one of the South West's leading big bands, the ensemble brings together experienced musicians performing a varied repertoire of jazz, swing and popular favourites. The concert also features vocal performances from session singer Bern Stewart, whose career has included work with the BBC and other major broadcasters.
Whether you're a long-time fan of big band music or discovering the genre for the first time, the performance offers an afternoon of well-known melodies and live musicianship.
