Enjoy an afternoon of swing, jazz and big band favourites with special guests The Three Counties Swing Band. Featuring classic tunes, stage and screen favourites, and original arrangements, this Sunday daytime concert promises great music performed by talented musicians.
For this special edition of Sunday Big Band Jazz, CICCIC welcomes the Three Counties Swing Band, a guest ensemble based near the borders of Somerset, Dorset and Devon.
Founded in 1996 and still rehearsing regularly near Axminster, the band has grown into a popular and accomplished swing ensemble with a passion for classic big band music. Audiences can expect a programme featuring well-known tunes from the Swing Era, songs from stage and screen, and a selection of distinctive arrangements of more contemporary pieces.
Adding to the performance will be vocalist Lizzie Browne, while Musical Director and drummer Kevin Dunn contributes many of the band's original arrangements. The concert offers the chance to enjoy the sight and sound of a traditional swing band performing live in an intimate daytime setting.
